Becky Jordan has had it with relationships. From now on her time and dedication won’t be lavished on her latest Mr. Wrong—or, worse, Mr. Hell-No!—just the dream travel job which has unexpectedly leapt into her lap. Finally, life is looking great.
Unfortunately, not as great as her sizzling-hot, take-charge new boss. Matt Frobisher is everything she doesn't want him to be, but if anyone thinks she'll risk her career on a workplace fling they can think again. No amount of Superman behaviour from him will make her roll over and play Lois.
At least, that's what her head says. Her heart, however, doesn't do logical. In desperation she finds herself a Mr. Distraction, one with no strings and plenty of appeal. But Mr. Distraction also comes with unforeseen complications. Kryptonite complications, like Becky’s sister. And when she shows up there’s only one sure thing: not even Superman can prevent the Disaster Fest that’s about to blow Becky’s life apart.
Warning: contains one guy determined to win the girl, one girl determined not to be won, and plenty of heat in the middle.

Five Star Review - Blogger's Bookshelf, 6 May 2013 (bloggersbookshelf.blogspot.co.uk)
"Becky Jordan is an instantly likeable character, who manages to get herself into some of the strangest (and rather amusing) situations . . . I couldn't put this book down. The plot is pacey . . . and leaves you desperate to find out what is going to happen next . . . Maggie Le Page has certainly set the bar high for her first book."
The Wishing Shelf Awards, 1 October 2014
"A fun, light read. Perfect over a glass of red wine. Highly recommended."

From the Author
A message for readers who have already read The Trouble With Dying:
Thanks for checking out A Heat Of The Moment Thing :) It's a slightly different read to The Trouble With Dying--as you'd expect, since they're completely different stories ;)--but as a 'repeat reader' you should feel quite at home.
Both books take the reader on a journey through some serious issues. And they both have plenty of sizzle--so if you liked the electricity between the hero and heroine in Dying, you'll enjoy more of the same with Heat.
Being my debut novel, A Heat Of The Moment Thing holds a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy escaping into the story and, as always, I look forward to your feedback. Happy reading. :)
About the Author
Hi there. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand (aka QuakeZone) with my partner, two children, and a snooty cat who thinks we're all her slaves. My days are spent running around after kids or doing one of my 'real' jobs, so my writing generally happens in the dead of night. (Morning? Ha! I'm a third-generation night owl. Enough said.)
I love chocolate, hate being cold, and am ever fascinated by the possibility of time travel. Obviously, my ideal experience would be to wake up on a tropical island eighty years into the future, with an endless supply of chocolate on hand.
There's nothing I love more than a good chat (except perhaps a good chat and chocolate--see the theme here?). So don't be shy--get in touch!

A Delight
By Yvonne Lewis
Becky Jordan has an accident in the swimming pool and is rescued by a chocolate-voiced dish of a man. At home, with her slob of a housemate Jim, she wishes she’d captured Chocolate’s name and phone number. She starts her new job as a travel lecturer and discovers her boss is… Guess who? But they’re both damaged and find it hard to trust, particularly when Charlie, a man from Becky’s past, intrudes.
I knew from the first page that here is someone who can write. I was immediately interested in Becky; I cared about her. I was amazed how quickly this was achieved. The incident in the pool is clever: a slight misdirection. Becky’s insecurity in her new role is convincingly expressed: “I’d been trying to do a job I had no hope of performing effectively.” She suffers hard lessons but gains in strength.
Maggie Le Page shows sensitivity and understanding of the way people think and behave. There’s a gentle underlying humour together with comic, LOL moments, but it’s not just chick-lit, by a long chalk. I really wanted to find out what happened next. Surprises, shocks, the pain of love gone awry. The writer cares for her characters, and so do I. I wanted to know what happened next, for them to be all right and happy. But do they? Read the book!

Funny, witty, light read!
By Inge
** Received a copy of the book for an honest review **
I really enjoyed A Heat Of The Moment Thing. It was funny, witty and well written. It kind of reminded me of the Shopaholic series by Sophia Kinsella, and that's high praise!
What I liked best about the book was that the characters were real. You saw them suffer through normal, everyday problems and true life situations. We can actually see how the main character grows in a a personal way before the conclusion of the book and I find that this was one of the things that I really enjoyed. It is not a meet, fall in love, HEA kind of book. It is a meet (in a really funny way), interact, deal with real issues (in a really funny way :)) and ... you'll have to read it to find out!
The only thing that I didn't like was that we don't actually see the relationship progress. I love books where we as a reader fall in love with the characters as they fall in love with themselves and can actually be part of the love story. This is not one of those. There is interaction between the characters but not deep enough for you see them falling in love.
Anyway, highly recommended... hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
