Packed with Patriotism and action

I'm not one to really do reviews but these books are just downright amazing. I've read the Corps Justice series more than once and each time I was pulled into the story like it was my first time reading it. C.G. Cooper doesn't go overboard with details like many of the books I have read yet I feel like I'm watching a movie while reading about Cal Stokes and his men rescuing each other and America throughout the series. The loyalty and respect the main characters have for one another is obvious from the beginning not only because it's stated, but also because they prove it on their missions. Their love for America and what our country stands for is also very clear. Especially now, our country could use the Corps Justice team from SSI. The books are somewhat short but again, they're not drawn out with unnecessary details and SSI gets in and gets the job done, no matter what the task.
I'm currently reading Presidential Shift (not included in this set) and highly suggest purchasing that one. I also recommend the short stories, Godspeed and Running. Both are very short and provide just a little, but enough, background on things briefly mentioned in the series. Adrift is another background story in the series about Daniel Cooper which I haven't read yet but can't wait to start!

Brilliant writing that will keep you up late at night

OMG! I have just finished reading the boxed set. Brilliant writing, awesome suspense and some great twists and turns. The first Corps Justice book I read was Adrift and loved it. Then went hunting to see what other books CG Cooper had written. Found all his books and read God-Speed then Running before diving into the first three books about SSI. I love his style of writing that kept me engaged. I have a love for the military and am grateful everyday the sacrifices they and their families make to keep us safe. I love it when someone has a military background, uses their knowledge and experience along with a talent for writing to create some great reading material. There were a couple of late nights as I could not put the books down.
Back to War had my heartbreaking for all that Cal had gone through and now he needed to find those responsible for his fiance's murder. Add to that he was struggling to find whether or not he belonged in SSI and if so, how. The struggles he went through and the training he relied on made for a great story.
Council of Patriots was even better than Back to War. Trying to figure out who was on what side and who was double-crossing who, kept me up at night. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author would throw in another twist. Loved it!
Prime Asset was very hard to put down. There was heart-stopping action all over the place along with some shocking heartbreak. Now onto Book 4 - Presidential Shift.

Corps Justice Series

I don't have the box set, but have read each one as the came out. I am one of those people who don't do reviews very often, but these books were worth a review.
As I have read each of the books in the series, they have gotten consistently better in story line and in the writing.
If you just want a quick, easy-reading, fun action book, then these are what you are looking for. Not much fluff, just the story, characters and action. The remind me a lot of the westerns I used to read (think Louis L'Amour).
While I enjoy books written by authors like Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, James Rollins, Barry Eisler, etc., sometimes I want something that is lighter and easier to read, and these fit that roll very well.
What I mean by this is that many books go into great detail (like the location the character is in, including history of notable buildings, details about the history of an area in a city, etc.) at times this makes them more of an effort to read. While this information is generally interesting and "enriches" the book, it does take a little more effort to read the book.
The Corps Justice series on the other hand, is stripped down to the core story and does not include a lot of these types of things, so it is really easy to pick up the book and run with it. However, this does not mean that the books are any less entertaining to read, nor does it mean that the characters or the story lines are not well developed.
In my opinion, Cooper has done a great job of balancing what is and is not necessary to have a good book that is easy and fun to read.
Even the short stories God-Speed (A Corps Justice Short Story) and Running (A Corps Justice Short Story) are fun to read and give you more insight into the main characters of the Corps Justice Series.
