I have to say [Chasing Charlie] is one of the very best books I have ever read, and I've read thousands. It is beautifully written and I felt every emotion with Vince and Angela. I freely admit to crying as if my heart was breaking but also came away with a better understanding of God's importance in all our lives and reached a level of peace about death. My only daughter died suddenly 5 years ago, my father one month later, and my mother one month ago. This book helped me accept God's will in their deaths and I thank C.M. Charlie

This was a well written solid book. Newman has put together one hell of a story.
Vince Glasser is a 6'3" FBI agent. He's the head of a team of agents who fly across the country helping law eforcement. He's one hell of an agent and leader for his team.
In the first pages Vice has been shot by a dirtbag he and his partner of many years, Angela Hawkins, were chasing. For some reason Vice didn't have his vest on and the bullet hits him in the abdomen. Angela immediately calls for EMS and puts pressure on Vince's stomach trying to staunch the blood flow.
Vince survives and one year later he's in his doctors office learning that he has inopperable pancreatic cancer.
Vince knows he's dying and the one thing on his mind is his six year old son Charlie. Vince is a single parent after his ex-wife Kate was killed in an auto accident. Vince is also a workaholic FBI agent who spends loads of time on cases and not enough time with Charlie.
His ex-Sister in Law Jenna fills that nitch. She's always available for Charlie.
Vince and Angela have always been close. In fact Angela has always loved Vince. She and Vince get closer after Vince lets his boss and team know that he's dying and he will be resigning. In a strange twist he and Angela get married. Vince is of two minds about this but Angela talks him into it.
So begins one poignient, tear jerker of a read. Holy cow at times one box of tissues just wasn't doing it.
This is a story well worth reading. Its full of friends, heartache, joy, angst and the will to survive.
If I could give more than five stars I surely would

Good Read, highly recommended

A story that will touch your heart which had me in tears more than a few times. A touching depiction of life and love.
As heart wrenching and as emotional as it was touching, was easy to connect with the characters. Nicely constructed story and a throughly enjoyable read. Would highly recommend
